Your computer can probably show several million colors. Here is a database with colors that have a name. For each color it shows the name, it shows how it looks on the screen, and it gives the hexadecimal code and the decimal coding for Red Green and Blue.
You can select several ways of sorting the list of colornames.
Note that sometimes the same color can have more than one name, and different colors may share the same name. If different colors have the same name, the name is followed by a number. This database includes 32 shades of grey (or gray).
Website developers can download a CSS file (colors.css) with all the names and codes. Attach this style sheet to your web pages to use any of these colors as a background for text or for cells in a table.
